Pain and Fear FactorsWhen my 'pain
factor' rises above my 'fear factor', I
become ready to make a change.
When the consequences of an addiction
become severe enough, I become willing
to face the fear and discomfort that
change provides. I also become
hopeful that a new life awaits, now that
I'm willing to pursue it.
Reducing someone's pain factor may
only help them delay a willingness to
reach out to God and others to make the
necessary lifestyle changes that reality
is demanding.
